Robert G. "Bob" Ashley is an independent insurance agent
who has been in business as Ashley Insurance Agency since 1983. He sells
homeowners, farm owners, mobile home owners, auto, life, health,
annuities and commercial insurance representing several different
companies.
Bob prides himself in customer service. His goal is to provide the
best coverage at the best price and with the best products. His
experience in the insurance industry and his independence means that he
will search for the right company for your needs. He is not a
"captive agent" for any company, meaning that he is an agent
for several different insurance companies. This translates to being able
to find the best product for the customer. Bob and his staff will listen
to your needs, inspect your property and recommend the policy they
believe will serve you best.
Bob and his staff have been trained to review insurance policies and
give advice on whether your coverage can be improved. This service is
provided free of charge. It is a good idea to examine your insurance at
least annually, or anytime your circumstances change. Perhaps you can
lessen your risk or the amount you pay for insurance.
Bob grew up in Roane County, West Virginia and graduated from Spencer
High School. He received a Bachelor’s degree in business from Marshall
University in 1975 (GO Herd!). He worked for State Farm’s legendary
agent, Ross W. Conley in his agency for three years, learning the
business. In 1983, he signed his first agent contract and opened his own
business, Ashley Insurance Agency. Bob has continued his education by
taking courses and seminars offered by independent groups and the
companies he represents.
Bob has been active in community and civic affairs and in politics.
He is active in Spencer Rotary, the
Roane County Chamber of Commerce and is a member of the Board of
Directors for the Roane County Library and Roane General Hospital. Bob
is the cubmaster for Cub Scout Pack 437. He and his family are members
of St. John’s United Methodist Church in Spencer, West Virginia.
Bob is married to
Anita Harold Ashley, an attorney, and has two
sons, Ben and Sam. Both boys are active in scouting and sports and you
can count on Bob and Anita to be in attendance at all the games and most
scouting events.
